YuSU at the International Russian-Chinese Conference "Differential and Difference Equations"

Sergey Pyatkov, a professor at the YuSU School of Digital Engineering, and Fyodor Evseev and Oleg Soldatov, our graduate students studying in "Differential Equations and Mathematical Physics," participated in the Russian-Chinese Conference "Differential and Difference Equations" in Novosibirsk.

The forum brought together scientists from nine countries: Russia, China, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Brazil, and the United Arab Emirates. Approximately 150 mathematicians participated, including more than 30 from China. Mathematicians from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Perm, Yakutsk, Mirny, Irkutsk, Krasnoyarsk, Chelyabinsk, Yekaterinburg, Nalchik, Khanty-Mansiysk, and other cities also participated.

The conference featured two scientific sections: "Partial Differential Equations" and "Mathematical Modeling and Computational Mathematics," as well as plenary lectures by leading mathematicians in the field of differential and difference equations. Young scientists made up approximately a quarter of the conference participants. Many had previously successfully participated in student and youth conferences, but presenting at such a prestigious event was their first.

Conference participants discussed a wide range of topics, including partial differential equations, ordinary differential equations, lagging equations, difference equations, equations of mathematical physics, mathematical modeling, approximation theory, and computational mathematics.

Oleg Soldatov presented a paper entitled "Inverse Problems of Recovering Low-Order Coefficients from Boundary Integral Data." "The well-posedness of inverse problems of identifying low-order coefficients in a second-order parabolic equation was examined. The study proved the well-posedness of the inverse problems under consideration," the young scientist shared. Fyodor Evseev's talk was devoted to an initial-boundary value problem for a quasi-hydrodynamic system of equations in weighted Sobolev spaces. Professor Sergey Pyatkov presented a paper to the scientific community entitled "On Some Classes of Coefficient Inverse Problems."

One of the conference participants, Hu Guangda, a professor at Shanghai University, noted that Russian science has a profound influence on mathematical research in China. The event was organized by Novosibirsk State University and the Sobolev Institute of Mathematics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, with the support of the Mathematical Center in Akademgorodok. The conference was a continuation of a series of scientific forums that began in 2023 in Novosibirsk and will be held in Dalian, China, in 2024.
