YuSU projects among winners of Yugra Governor's grant competition

Yugra State University has once again confirmed its status as an innovative educational institution by winning the Yugra Governor's Grant Competition with three significant projects.

One of the most notable among them is “The Constitution for Young Citizens: Simply About the Main Things,” developed by students of the Higher School of Law under the guidance of Elena Kotsyurko, Associate Professor at the Center for Educational Engineering.

The “Constitution for Young Citizens” project aims to increase legal literacy among young people, foster active citizenship, and promote respect for the law. In today's society, where legal culture and awareness are sometimes lacking, it is especially important to focus on legal education for the younger generation. The target audience for the project is students in grades 5–8 at general education institutions in Khanty-Mansiysk.

One of the key objectives of the project is to combat legal nihilism among young people. A lack of knowledge about the Constitution and its significance leads to apathy and indifference to legal issues. The project aims to change this situation by promoting the country's Basic Law and fostering a conscious attitude towards it as the foundation of the state's legal system.

As part of the project, a simplified and structured version of the Constitution will be developed and presented in book form. This version will be adapted for the target audience to facilitate the understanding of complex legal terms and norms. The book will contain comments, illustrations, and examples to help readers better understand the content of the Basic Law.

The project also provides for the organization of various events (lectures, seminars, master classes, debates, and games) at the university, timed to coincide with the Day of the Constitution of the Russian Federation. All this will allow young people to be involved in active discussion of legal issues.

To ensure wide audience coverage and promote constitutional values in the digital environment, it is planned to develop posts and videos adapted for a young audience. These materials will take into account current trends in the media space.

At the moment, the project team is actively working on the preliminary development of the book's content. The structure and format of the material are being discussed, and visual solutions are being tested. An innovative approach was the use of neural networks to create a pilot version of a character that will become one of the elements of the book's visual design (https://disk.yandex.ru/d/nZ4rmmTPveq0AA).

The next project among the winners is the “Open Regional Competition of Research Projects for Schoolchildren ‘Yugra. Ecology. Talents’” from the Higher School of Ecology, developed by students under the guidance of Tatyana Antyufeeva, PhD in Geography, Associate Professor at the Higher School of Economics.

In today's world, issues of ecology and sustainable development are becoming increasingly relevant. In this context, environmental education and the formation of ecological competencies among young people are of particular importance. This project was an important step in this direction.

The competition aims to attract schoolchildren to research activities in the field of ecology, which is especially important in the context of modern environmental challenges. Participants in the competition will have the opportunity not only to study methods of environmental research, but also to apply them in practice, which will help them develop research interest and critical thinking.

The competition format includes several stages. At the preliminary stage, participants are trained in the use of research methods and then present the results of their research. This approach not only identifies talented young people, but also creates conditions for in-depth study of the natural features of their native region – the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Yugra.

Yugra State University acts as an innovative platform for the implementation of research projects by schoolchildren. Thanks to its modern equipment, laboratory facilities, and qualified experts, YuSU ensures a high level of organization for the competition. Participants will be able to conduct research both in the field and in the university's laboratories, which will significantly improve the quality of their work and results.

Thus, the project “Yugra. Ecology. Talents” is an important part of the system of continuous environmental education in Yugra. It contributes to the formation of a community of young people interested in in-depth study of ecology and environmental protection. This not only helps to identify gifted children, but also forms a new generation of environmentally literate citizens who are ready to solve the pressing problems of their region and the country as a whole.

Support was also given to the project “Virtual Search Team for Participants in the Great Patriotic War” from the Higher School of Psychology and Pedagogy, developed by students under the guidance of senior lecturer Alexander Portnykh.

The project aims to help city residents establish the fate of their relatives who participated in the Great Patriotic War. In today's information society, many citizens do not have sufficient skills to use search engines such as “Memory of the People,” “Road of Memory,” and “Victory for All.”

The project team offers a structured route for searching for information about front-line soldiers, which includes studying their combat path, participation in front-line operations, awards received, records from military transit points, as well as information about the place of death and burial. This will help many people restore the historical memory of their ancestors and immortalize their exploits.

One of the key aspects of the project will be the creation of a mobile patriotic exhibition based on the most vivid and inspiring stories of front-line soldiers. These stories will be collected from the testimonies of applicants, including students. The exhibition will be presented in several educational institutions in the city, including YuSU, YuSU Multidisciplinary College, Khanty-Mansiysk State Medical Academy, and Khanty-Mansiysk Technological and Pedagogical College.

This approach will not only help preserve historical memory, but also draw the attention of young people to the exploits of their great-grandfathers. It is important that the project aims to foster patriotism among the younger generation, instilling respect for the history of their country and its heroes.
