YuSU student wins 1 million rubles in the Student Startup competition

Mikhail Shilkov, a student of the YuSU High School of Digital Economy, won 1 million rubles in the Student Startup competition by the Innovation Promotion Foundation to implement his own project.

Mikhail's startup is aimed at developing an AI that controls vehicle logistics and warehouse inventory.

"The relevance of the project is that Russia is undergoing a reorientation of supply chains and many warehouses are idle, and it is long and expensive to build new ones. Because of this, cargo delivery is becoming more expensive and longer. I found out about the win and I still can't believe it, I'm very happy about it. This is my first project at such a high level and I won at once!", - said the student.

Mikhail was mentored by Aldabergen Panaev, a teacher of the Educational Engineering Center of YuSU.

"Student Startup" competition by the Foundation for Assistance to Innovations is a good opportunity for students to develop and realize their entrepreneurial skills. Our students have won this competition for the second year in a row. Using last year's winning experience and Mikhail's idea, we had a well-prepared application for the competition. Misha is the initiator, the author of the idea, to whom we only provided a little help and support in the preparation, filling out the application, preparation for the defense. The very idea of his project to include artificial intelligence in the field of logistics is as relevant as possible today, given the international restrictions and the lack of a large number of competitors in the domestic market. Winning the competition is the first step, we will continue to support and help our student at all stages of its realization", - commented Aldabergen.

Now Mikhail will have to defend his project before the foundation's commission and start promoting it in order to find companies that will be able to implement the AI he has developed. The grant contract with the student will be signed in September 2024.
