YuSU students are awarded in the innovation projects competition

Students of Yugra State University took part in the competition of innovative projects held as part of the Seventh International Youth Scientific and Practical Forum "Oil Capital".

The aim of the competition was to identify the best innovative technologies, materials, products for application in the oil and gas production industry, public utilities, social sphere, as well as the most interesting business plans of projects for the development of the leading sectors of the Russian economy.

The participants presented their research works in three nominations: "Oil and Gas Technologies", "Industrial and Safe Production Technologies" and "Ecology and Green Technologies".

They were evaluated by experts - leading specialists of oil and gas companies, industry universities and research centres of the country.

Ainaz Mavlemberdin made a report on the problem of salt deposits in wells equipped with ESPs at the Mamontovskoye field.

In his paper he analysed one of the oil fields in Western Siberia and identified the causes of low oil production and water cut problems related to salt deposits on the submersible equipment.

"One way or another, we need to extract the residual oil, albeit with water, but at the moment, in my opinion, there are no technologies that allow us to completely get rid of this and other problems. Therefore, in my research I consider the main methods that will allow to remove salts or prevent their formation on submersible equipment. The reason for participating in the competition was the desire to share my work with others and find like-minded people in the oil and gas industry. I also hope to gain experience for further performances," said Aynaz.

The topic of Alina Savchenko's research was "Influence of the structure of low molecular weight nitrogenous bases on the composition of oil systems and aggregative stability of asphaltenes".

In her presentation she shared her own scientific discoveries and results of experiments, which will allow to better understand the process of aggregation of asphaltenes and find ways to improve the stability of heavy oils. Alina noted that her research aroused great interest of the forum participants, as the topic is relevant and important for the oil and gas industry.

"Now we have difficulties in the world with the production and refining of heavy oils because heavy oil is caused by a high content of asphaltenes, which form deposits in equipment. The structure of these asphaltenes is complex and their effect on the stability of heavy oils is still unknown. We have learnt that natural nitrogenous bases isolated from oil resins also increase the colloidal stability of oil and they contain other functional groups that may have an ambiguous effect on the aggregation process of asphaltenes. In this regard, we were interested in assessing the influence of the chemical nature of various nicoscomolecular azitic bases as components of the oil dispersed medium", - said the student.

For Alina it is the first experience of speaking at such an event, and she did not regret that she took part. She noted that the Oil Capital is not only a great platform for the exchange of scientific ideas and experience, but also an opportunity to meet interesting people from different countries. Alina expressed her gratitude to her colleague Aikhanum for the offer to take part in the forum and emphasised that she would be happy to participate in similar events in the future.

Aikhanum Hajiyeva presented her work "Infrared analyser of transformer oil quality".

Aikhanum has developed a new methodology for analysing the quality of transformer oil, which will allow for a more accurate determination of its composition and properties. For this purpose, she has created a special measuring cell and standard samples that will allow analyses to be carried out with high accuracy.

This is the second time Aikhanum has taken part in the Oil Capital Forum. This time she not only acts as a speaker at the RAS conference, but also presents her company Spectroil LLC as a resident of the Yugra Technopark.

She emphasises that the Oil Capital forum is not only an opportunity to present one's project and get an assessment from experts, but also a great platform for sharing experience and getting acquainted with major companies in the oil and energy industries. Such acquaintances can help young specialists not only to refine their ideas, but also to realise them, and possibly offer cooperation.

Aikhanum shared her impressions of the forum: "All my expectations were met! I am very happy that my work aroused such interest among the jury and forum participants. It gives me motivation to continue working on my project. I am grateful for the opportunity to present my idea on such a high platform and to get valuable advice and acquaintances".

Nikita Rogozhnikov told the jury members about the application of FPV-drones for monitoring the state of the gas-air environment during the combustion of associated petroleum gas.

"The main idea of my work is to develop the application of unmanned transport (drones in particular) and their use for industrial and environmental purposes at oil and gas facilities characterised by a high level of negative environmental impact. Optimisation of some production aspects by unmanned transport will reduce the time to perform operations and improve overall production efficiency, reducing environmental costs. This conference allows us to recognise various innovative ideas that are emerging in the industry and discuss the prospect of their further development," said Nikita.

Postgraduate student Roman Butyrin presented work on transformation of oil pollution composition in the conditions of the Northern region.

"We modelled oil spills, collected contaminated samples and studied how the composition of oil pollution changes under the influence of external factors. We presented the results at the contest. In general, I participate in this competition for the second year in a row. Last year I took the third place. Since there were intermediate results, today there was more complete information", - said Roman.

Students E.I. Sayakhov, Z.M. Imamutdinov and Kirill Zagaykevich also presented their works.

According to the results of the competition the works of our students were highly appreciated. Roman Butyrin received the second degree diploma and Alina Savchenko received the third degree diploma. Theses of the best reports will be published in the collection, which will be indexed in the RINC database.

"Frankly speaking I did not expect to take the prize place at all, but I was told that my work was decently presented, I answered all the questions of the jury members well. Our research is fundamental, we already have a plan for the future," Alina shared.
