YuSU students organised an extracurricular event for children-migrants

On the eve of International Women's Day, as part of project activities, the "Russian Language Volunteers" team organised and held an extracurricular event for children and their mothers and grandmothers "March 8 - Women's Day!" at the Centre for Cultural and Linguistic Adaptation of Migrant Children of MBEI "Secondary School No. 6 named after Sirin N.I.".

The main goal of the project "Volunteers of the Russian language" is to improve the level of Russian language skills of migrant children who have no or poor knowledge of the Russian language. To achieve this goal, 2nd year students Lala Arzimanova, Alena Nagaeva, Svetlana Nikitina, Ulyana Korobchits, Timur Niyazov and Grigory Scherbenev conduct additional individual Russian language classes with them.

The event organised together with the pedagogue and head of the Centre Adygezalbekova Sona Adygezal kyzy and held at a high level proved the effectiveness of this work. Migrant children read poems in Russian, sang songs, performed folk dances, acted out sketches and showed a performance of an Uzbek folk tale in Russian. The holiday turned out to be wonderful! It was held in a friendly and warm atmosphere. Everyone was satisfied: children, mothers, grandmothers, teachers, the Centre and school administration. All participants of the project team and their mentor Lyudmila Andreeva, candidate of philological sciences, associate professor of the Higher School of Humanities, were awarded letters of thanks for their professionalism, responsible and interested attitude in working with migrant children.
