YuSU students - winners of the International English Language Olympiad

YuSU students performed brilliantly at the V International Gumilev Online Olympiad in English among 1-2 year students. It was held on the basis of the Philology Department of L.N. Gumilev Eurasian National University (Kazakhstan). Students from Kazakhstan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan and Turkey took part in the Olympiad. Our university was represented by five students-winners of the YuSU Language Olympiad.

The Olympiad was held in two rounds. The first round included listening and lexico-grammatical test. The second round was an oral report on the topic: “Modern labor market and the future of working professions”. According to the results of the Olympiad, Alexandra Fedorova, a student of the Engineering School of Digital Technologies, and Alima Sulhaeva, a student of the Higher School of Law, became prize-winners and were awarded diplomas of the III degree.

“In the second stage everyone had a relevant topic related to the labor market in the future, as well as the impact of technology on professions. I was given the topic “New technologies and disappearance of traditional professions”. After the presentation, the jury asked questions. I was preparing for such a topic, as in our realities it is topical and requires attention. I found this topic interesting, as nowadays there are many professions that are losing their relevance due to the development of technology”, - said Alima Sulhaeva.
